How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Parcel Delivery: To match your booking with an available driver, share necessary pickup and drop-off details with the assigned driver, and notify the recipient of an incoming delivery.
- Pricing Calculation: To calculate your delivery price based on distance (via Google Maps Distance Matrix API), parcel size, and chosen delivery speed.
- Payment Processing: To securely process card payments via Paystack, or to record cash-on-delivery bookings and issue confirmations.
- Booking Confirmation & Tracking: To send email and SMS confirmations to the sender, and to enable delivery tracking via your dashboard.
- Service Improvement: To analyse booking patterns, improve pricing accuracy, and develop new platform features.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with South African legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Marketing: To send promotional updates and offers, only with your explicit consent. You may opt out at any time.
Recipient Data & Third-Party Information
When you book a parcel delivery, you provide us with personal information about the recipient (name, phone number, email, and drop-off address). By submitting this information, you confirm that:
- You have the recipient's consent to share their personal details with Furnmovers for the purpose of completing the delivery.
- The recipient's details will only be shared with the assigned driver to facilitate the delivery and will not be used for any marketing purpose.
- Recipient data is stored for a maximum of 90 days after delivery completion, after which it is anonymised or deleted.
Sharing of Information
We share your information only where necessary to deliver the service. We never sell your personal data to any third party.
Data Security
Furnmovers implements industry-standard security measures to protect your information and that of your parcel recipients. Card payments are handled entirely by Paystack — we never store card numbers on our servers.

All data in transit is encrypted — including booking details and payment redirects

No Card Storage
Card details are never stored by Furnmovers — handled exclusively by Paystack (PCI-DSS compliant)
Access Control
Strict role-based access — drivers only see what they need to complete your delivery
Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary:
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
- Booking and delivery records are retained for 12 months for dispute resolution and legal compliance, then anonymised.
- Recipient data (name, phone, address) is retained for 90 days after delivery completion, then deleted or anonymised.
- Payment references are retained for 5 years as required by South African financial regulations.
